Design of Low Power Digital Filters

چکیده
In this paper we propose an efficient approach to design high-speed digital filters with low power consumption which is based on power supply voltage scaling and exploiting the excess speed that may be obtained by using maximally fast recursive filter structures. We also discuss several techniques to increase and obtain the maximal sample rate for recursive structures based on frequency masking techniques and wave digital filters. The implementation approach is applicable to bit-parallel, digit-serial, and bit-serial arithmetic in CMOS.

The design and implementation of an interpolator using wave digital filters is presented. The interpolator increases the sample frequency with a factor of 4, from 800 kHz to 3.2 MHz.
